Overton County Middle School Boys Soccer will begin on Tuesday the 13th.

Practice Details:
• Date: Tuesday the 13th
• Time: 5:00 PM
• Focus: Conditioning only

All players must bring an up to date physical and both tennis shoes and cleats and wear weather-appropriate athletic attire.

This app will be the primary form of communication for all Overton County Middle School Boys Soccer information, updates, and announcements. Once the app is downloaded, the coach has requested that parents send a message to the group to confirm they have

Additionally, we are looking to form a Middle School Soccer Booster Club made up of parent volunteers. This group will help raise funds for team uniforms and travel expenses. If you are willing to support our program, please consider being a part of the booster club.

Due to inclement weather arriving earlier than expected, tonight’s Overton county basketball tournament games have been cancelled. The reschedule date will be communicated as soon as arrangements are made. Thank you for understanding .

Due to Overton County being under a winter weather advisory, Overton County Schools will be 2 hours late tomorrow, Friday, December 5, 2025. We will reassess the weather in the morning.

We understand that everyone wants basketball to begin, and we know how important athletics are to our students and our community. However, because this situation involves allegations that fall under Title IX, federal law outlines a very specific process that we must follow. Here’s what that means in plain language: Title IX is federal law, and it requires a formal process. We do not have the option to skip steps or rush the timeline, even if we want to. We want this situation resolved as much as you do, but it must be done correctly. The law requires us to: • Conduct a thorough, unbiased investigation; • Collect and allow both sides to review evidence; • Allow time for all parties to respond and provide their own statements; • Provide a written final determination; and • Honor a required appeal window before any resolution can be implemented. During this process, we are required to protect every student involved from future harassment and retaliation. The law also prohibits the district from disciplining any student before the entire process is completed. Restarting basketball now would mean violating one of these requirements and denying students the full protection of Title IX. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and providing each with the due process they deserve. That means restarting basketball after the Title IX process has been completed.

The Overton County Fire Chiefs Association/Livingston City Fire/TN Fire Marshals Office is offering FREE Smoke Detectors for Overton County, Livingston City, East Clay & Taylors Cross Roads Residents. The smoke detectors must be installed by trained fire fighters and volunteers in your area and deemed working properly. To obtain these FREE smoke detectors all you need to do is click the link below, fill out the request form, and submit it. Smoke Detectors will be installed on Dec 1st and Dec 2nd. Overton County Schools continues to follow all required procedures under federal Title IX regulations regarding recent allegations connected to the boys’ basketball program at Livingston Academy.

While the investigation and grievance process are ongoing, the district is legally prohibited from issuing disciplinary actions or final decisions until all due process requirements are completed. This process ensures that every student’s rights are protected and that the district’s response is both thorough and fair.

We recognize the community’s concern and appreciate your patience as we work carefully within these legal requirements. Our priority remains the safety, integrity, and well-being of all students.

Because this is an active investigation, no additional details can be shared at this time. Updates will be provided when the process concludes and it is appropriate to do so under the law.

Overton County Schools has received allegations of hazing involving members of the Livingston Academy boys’ basketball program. We take all reports seriously and are actively and thoroughly investigating the matter. While investigations are ongoing, the boys’ basketball program at Livingston Academy has been temporarily suspended.
