Coordinated School Health
Introduction
The mission of Coordinated School Health Program (CSH) is to improve student health and their capacity to learn through the support of families, communities, and schools. Funding for CSH is provided by the Tennessee State Legislature through the Department of Education. Matching funds and community resources are necessary to help schools solve complex health issues. The benefits of the program include:
reduced absenteeism
fewer behavior problems in the classroom
improved student health and performance
Special thanks to the Tennessee State Legislature for making Tennessee the first state in the nation to mandate Coordinated School Health statewide.
